I just hope there isn't a lot of style statements as in wide sweeping staircases but not a lot of room for actual exhibits. It is estimated that there is still no room for 93% of what we have available in storage.
The museum is looking quite good.........pity about the ugly black eyesores behind it. Will Alsop's cloud would have looked better.
I didn't like that much either.
Knock the lot down. The whole site is an eyesore. What happend to the 'World Heritage Site'?
As I have posted before,I think there must have been a BIG bung to get that lot through planning.
The Cloud was another con.

The cloud might have looked good elsewhere, perhaps at the Kings Dock area. English Heritage are giving Peel a hard time over their plans for Liverpool Waters due to this World Heritage tag. If it meant we had to lose it to progress and fill all those wastelands North of the Liver Building, I would gladly go for that.
Yes,build all the crap north of the Liver or south of the Brunswick. It so out of place with the area it's in now.
Planning tell you what brick you can use, dash or render, what tiles for your roof ect to keep in line with the area, then that lot gets allowed!

Up to now I don't mind the black buildings, but I am waiting until everything is fully completed and up and running before I make my final decision. I am willing to give them a chance. They may look better when it's all busy and thriving around there - there is going to be new restaurants and shops there I think, so it might appeal more when all that is established.
I do like the high shine/glassy effect and the reflections on these buildings.
I'll reserve my full judgement for a bit longer yet.
Keeping it real!

I thought I'd made my mind up seeing the new terminal building and museum..
I thought they were a disgrace to a World Heritage site when I saw them months ago..
totally out of being with the Liver Building etc..
I've changed my mind....
I never like them then..
they are more than a disgrace to Liverpool now that black shiny building is near completion..
that black building is awful.. it is the ugliest building I have ever seen...
The Pier Head World Heritage site area is no longer a disgrace because of them ugly buildings..
it is now a laughing stock ... end of.. full stop.

I like that 80s photo of the Pier Head. There was nothing wrong with it back then so why change it.
I think it looks infinitely better than it used to, although I do like classical buildings, I think a lot of negative comments could be the
result of nostalgia, the taking away of buildings that were part of ones own childhood. I can empathise with that idea I have a bit
of it myself. But hey they used to publicly hang people for nicking food and we are glad that has gone.
