The first one to be demolished was on Soho Street at Sprinfield end and was tarmacked over to make a footy pitch with 12ft high railings put around it, the full sized goals were made of breeze blocks - this was 1977. The 3 remaining squares on Mansfield st, Wakefield St, Queen Anne Street were demolished around 1983.

Concord close. Was that part of the four squares ? I went there once or twice to visit someone. It was mid to late 70s when most of it was boarded up and awaiting demolition. It was in the Soho st area.

Lindy. In an effort to spruce up the 4 squares - they were indeed renamed Concord Close and Cullen Close. It never quite worked though

the four squares were nocked down in 1984 my dads family lived there . my dads family were the o'connells and the bakers and the kellys and were friends of the farleys , this is a picture of my grandma margaret ; maggie ; o'connell and my auntie rene baker who sadly passed away in october 2008 r i p,
i remember when i was a kid i use to visit my aunties there names were aggie ellis , jean roberts , auntie peggy r i p and auntie renee baker , and my auntie mary r i p , my uncles names were frankie o'connell, stevie o'connell, tony o'connell, they were all from birkkett street. and my dad pop o'connell, who sadly died in 29th november 2003,my family photos from over the years 70s and 80s and 90s.
