Modern office space into 1930s and earlier buildings don't go easily (air-conditioning, ceiling heights, toilets, disability access, size of floors, open plan space, all the things businessses want etc etc).

It's a challenge to find new use for old and it's all in the World Heritage site.

I just think how long this building has been standing.. What Great construction to withstand all the elements for so long..

Whoever buys it, could refurbish the inners if so needed..It still looks worth buying, maybe for a news agency, police dept.. or something as such..So it looks to me...

We have some old buildings here since 1901, that have been furnished with airconditioning etc.. and new lu's..one is a McDonalds now (), and housing little ma and pop stores....I will post some pics when I get a new computer up and running...

In my eyes, this keeps people in check, on how well -made things were in the past... and how history should be kept alive for all to say Wow too.. (my opinion).. Thanks for sharing..

See page 5 of the art deco thread below for images of it getting built in the early 30s, when the tunnel opened in 34, the crane is just finishing off the dome on the roof.

    Ta Ged..

Like I said... It was a labor of love and has withstood a lot of years in one peace..

Hope its kept for many years to come... Wish I had the money to keep these fabulous buildings from going to ruin... and I do hope some Company sees this structure as fit, and needing only the insides modernised a bit..

Liverpool to me has a uniqueness to its old worldly structures.. Europe in General does... To myself.. this is what draws people to other parts of the world.. to see things that were amazingly built and preserved..

If it cannot be used for offices then apartment conversion seems the obvious way.
