Clayton square stopped being a square when the tram lines were run right through it, complete with road. The building of Owen Owen store completed the destruction of the square. It was a disgrace that the square was destroyed.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

As I said at the start,
"I got a CD of pics from Liverpool off ebay, it is called "Images of Old Liverpool. It has no copyright and no owner names for the pics ! any objections to sharing a few on here ?

    Martin "

If you want me to take them off and not post anymore, no problem.

Here is a scan of the front and back of the CD I bought off ebay a good while ago.
