Thumbs up Liverpool's Original 7 Streets

I thought it would be a good idea to rekindle interest in the existing thread here.

Can I encourage members to add their own pics (PAST AND PRESENT) to this thread of the streets and buildings.......

I took myself on a photo mission this morning to snap images of these historic streets:

    Default Chapel Street

Atlantic Terrace is a nice peaceful haven for a quiet pint on an elevated position for some photies. The Tradewinds Bar was once our first pub on the 'bottom end' pub crawl we used to do taking in The Pig & Whistle, Tom Halls Tavern, The Corn Market, The Slaughterhouse, Trials, The 1st National, The Queens and The Liverpool (though it was The Mona back then)

The Terrace can be accessed without the need to go into the Hotel and get the lift up or purchase a drink. Simply use the outside staircase which is facing 'Old Churchyard' entrance to St. Nics Gardens on Chapel Street.

This sculpture which appeared on here many moons ago can be found in the enclosed courtyard down below.

    Three Towers.

And the view towards the River.

Hey Gedrick, I used to go to most of them pubs back in the 70s on my rounds with my mates, we may have bumped into you once or twice, mind you we would have had to buy you a pint if we,d have knocked yours over you

I particularly like that Gull iron piece of Artwork.. Really captures the movement of gulls on the fly on a port.. Great work there.. Anyone know the artist?

St Mary del quay, Chapel st originally, St. Nics (the sailors church) was built as a chapel of ease for St Mary's, Walton - hence the name Chapel St.

The tower was built 1811-15 by Thomas Harrison, the gardens laid out by James Harrison.

Thom & Jas Harrison Shipping Line was situated here in Mersey Chambers, Old Churchyard, Liverpool 2, though the main entrance was in Covent Garden. A Liver Bird sits at the top of this building overlooking the Gardens and the River.

    St. Nics.

Amazing snaps! Used to work on Castle Street and had the good fortune of going in many of the wonderful buildings in the area! Made my job very much worthwhile! :-)
