    It`s just past the custom and tax building at the waterfront it`s real name is the Coburg half tide dock

    Yeah, I used to live right next to it on Mariners Wharf...It's directly in front of the Restaurant/Bar at the Marina.

    Not being a townie I am struck by the lack of horses in these pioctures.
    I am sure there were still horses in use in my part of Scotland at this time. Such a thrusting metropolis this Liverpool even from these times.

    I've just been browsing through this site and it has brought back remembrance of an article in the Echo written in the late fifty's. It mentioned that when the Overhead railway was demolished it would open up the Pier Head to redevelopment for tourism. The building of a Lido was mentioned ,I kid you not, and the IOM port area would be redesigned and major hotels wou;ld be built. Does anyone else have any recollections of that "plan"
