The park had pre-fabs on it just after WW2. They were there until the 1960s. They looked pretty then they pulled them down and left waste land for a couple decades. Rathbone Rd was nice, with some nice shops and a dairy.

Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?

That skateboard park looks pretty glum now, the boarders preferring to use any slope they can find in the city centre instead aka Silkhouse court, the pier head, vic monument, Manchester st etc etc.

Pity the council can't spruce it up with a dash of weed killer and a lick of paint.

I'm sure they could if they felt it would be used. Sefton Council spent a few bob on one in the North park. it's always in use when ever I go past.
Blakedown Sport and Play to constructed it. it has a grind rail and other metal bits around the top.
