    Default Rice lane

    Anyone remember 'the throstles nest', not the pub. but the road or alley leading from Rice lane to Walton Hall Park, just by the Dunlop factory?

    Used to cut through there to the park, to play football at lunchtime, when I was an apprentice at Dunlops.

    Hi Kevin,
    So Did I , I was the Joiner Over building Matenance for twelve yrs.
    The only kevin I think I can Remember second name Started with "F"
    and His dad was boss Engineer, a good Job ruined By Idiots.
    By the way did you end up going to sea.

    Yes - same Kevin! Stayed at sea for 13 years - best thing I ever did. Came back ashore in 1985.

    The only joiner I recall lived out Cronton way - was that you?

    Hi Kev,
    Great to hear from you, are you back in L'pool.
    And yes thats me still here 76yrs and still going strong I've been
    climbing 80' & 100' poles since I was 65 for "Marie Curie" raising
    ?16,000, to now, at the Great Yorkshire Show and the
    Royal Welsh show usualy three a day depending on the weather,
    upto now well over a 100 poles. And hopeing to be there again this year.
    Hope all is well with you and yours.

    Haven't lived in Liverpool since '78. Been in the midlands since 1981 and currently live in Coseley, near Dudley. Still have family in Liverpool but don't get up there as often as I'd like.
