A city morphs as time rolls on. A few inappropriate public authority bungalows in the wrong place should not stop a city expanding.

The destruction of Scotland Rd was social vandalism. Running a motorway through an inner city area near the centre was appalling. The second road crossing should have been a double level bridge with rail and road, killing two birds with one stone. It could have been from New Brighton to Bootle at very High Level. Then the rail network could have looped through the Wirral. But rail was not wanted as the Road Transport Lobby has some political parties in their pocket. The bridge would have give the city another identifiable icon and greater bond with the river.
The Wallasey Tunnel was a massive mistake.
