Default The New Mayflower Scooter nights

Does anyone remember or used to go to the New Mayflower on Fazakerly St, they used to have Northern Soul, Ska & Bluebeat every Friday night,.
This would have been the late 80's, early 90's.
Does anyone know of any Liverpool venues today doing the same sort of music today ?

I remember weekends in the mayflower very well being a plazzy mod in the late 70s/very early 80s. Being pretty local to it we used to go there with Vauxhall Gardens lads and the fights against the 'Kirkby's' could be unmerciful. Played there in a group too in 1981.

I'm not sure, but maybe the"Sink" club in Hardman st? I know the people who run it are 60's music fans, and the name was revived from a club of the time, and from what i was told, the membership was a plug on a chain

Yes, the #Magnet in Hardman street (formerly the Sink in the 60s) have a Sink club night. Not been for a few months but was usually the las sunday of each month.
Le Bateau play a lot of the same but mixed with other stuff on a saturday and Laago have a DJ who plays during the week who drives an old mini, wears mohair mod suits and plays loads of northern and rare soul. May be the same lad who DJ's in Le Bateau
