did a search for ventilation but no joy.

this is White St/Greville St near Park Lane L1

I was on the way to photograph somewhere else when I saw it. there was someone else taking pics of it. Wonder if it's someone from here?

and this one is in Wavertree Park by the wall of the botanical gardens

there were quite a few around Wavertree/Edge Hill.

A lot are only showing up now that buildings around them have been demolished.

I've got a couple of early 20th century localised OS maps. must have a proper look.

I've looked in the tunnel areas but can't make them out. how are they marked Phil? by a letter , number or tiny circle?

There used to be a 'Star Wars' mural painted on the Grenville Street vent. I haven't seen it since apartments were built, though.

On the Wapping tunnel, they're marked by squares (because they're square?).
They're at: White St/Grenville St; Gt George St/Up Duke St; Blackburne Place; Chatham St/Myrtle St (not sure about this one. It could be a small building); and Crown St., which is marked as 'Air Shaft'.

Victoria/Waterloo Tunnel, they're marked by circles (because they're circular?).
Gladstone St/Vauxhall Rd; (Cutting at Hodson/Byrom St); Wilde St./Norton St., (actually just on the other side of the tunnel!); Elizabeth St., near Crown St.; Paddington/Minshull St.; Elm Grove/Paddington; and Woodside St., near Wavertree Rd.
I'd never realised before that one tunnel had square vents and t'other circular.

There are a few circular ones for Dingle Tunnel.
The '911' mural on Great George Street, is painted on a vent.

I looked at that CLC/Garston/Hunts Cross line and it's not so obvious just what is what.
The first vent is behind Berry St./Wood St.
The two vents in Great George Street are not obvious, as on the map they could be buildings and are by the side of the line, not over it.
There are a lot of cuttings before the Dingle Tunnel (not to be confused with the Tunnel to Dingle Station on the Overhead).
There's a circular vent on Cockburn Street and another near Dingle Road/Matthew Arnold School.

    Default Great George Street vent.

The line is exactly under the roadway down Great Street Street.

The Wapping Waterloo Tunnels have too many vent shafts for an electric railway. Many can be removed. They were built for steam trains.
