Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
how it once was?

Fantastic work lads, almost 10,000 viewings to this thread with you 2 responsible for a good few thousand of them...

Sorry for the images, but the film is very faded now.
You take them for granted - until one day they're gone!
Sirob and Merseywail, thanks to you both for posting all of these precious photos. They belong to us all now.
Sirob, you say the film is faded, but all hope is not lost....this is my corrected version of your most recent Black 5 photo, even working from your posted version the improvement is dramatic, and I'm no Photoshop expert. Given access to the original slides / prints or negs, a professional could probably pull a surprising amount of detail back from the murk. Hang on to the originals!
love the ones of woodside and just wodering if anyone has more pictures of railways on the wirral as i used to live there
Thanks for your feedback, always glad to share.
