Towerhill tower blocks
Hi there ive been reading on this forum for a while now, i think geds site is fascinating, seeing all the roads i drive on and thinking "what was here before?" having been a taxi driver for 11 years now, ive only known it for that long. living in kirkby we only new the towney and town on saturday!
I remember when a lot of these towers where coming down in the last 11 years and thinking FINALY, without a regard for the familys that lived there, now they are nearly all gone , it seems strange seeing them all again!
anyway we lived in flats by the tenderhook on towerhill, i remember as a child us all watching the BALL ON CHAIN knocking them down, we moved to summerfield, then the "lekky side" thirlmere walk missionettes before the tops were knocked off!!!
has anyone got any photos of the flats by the tenderhook?
Thanks for the comments Gav. You'll notice I have 2 pubs pages on my site but not the Tenderhook. Is it still there under that name or a name change as I was looking for it to photograph last summer. I had it down as being around Highfield?
Have you tried the Liverpool records office on William Brown st. Let me know whereabouts they were and i'll see if I can find any.
Hi Ged, the Tenterhook is well demolished now
Thanks GD. I got your local on it though
I see it's nicely lit up at night.
