BRITAIN’S highest restaurant opens its doors today.

But bosses at Panoramic, on the 34th floor of Beetham’s West Tower, said it is already booked up until March.

The stylish restaurant and bar took a staggering 450 bookings in just one day.

Liverpool celebs were given a sneak preview at a champagne reception last night.

Singer Liz McClarnon was among the VIP guests enjoying the breathtaking views.

She told the ECHO: “It’s amazing. The minute I got here I texted about six of my mates and said I’m going to be bringing them.

“It reminds me of a chic London bar and restaurant – only it’s better because of the stunning Liverpool skyline.”

Other celebs included Andrew Lancel of The Bill, Hollyoaks’ Roxanne McKee, her co-star Jamie Lomas and radio presenter Dean Sullivan.

They listened to Beatles classics and contemporary tunes played by jazz band Row Z.

Staff served up a mini selection of sweet and savoury treats.

Restaurant designer Richard Eastwood, of R2 Architects, said Panoramic could help make the city European Capital of Cupid.

He said: “This is the place where every man is going to want to propose. It’s cosy and luxurious and very romantic.”
