Whilst in the LRO yesterday looking through some old Catholic Pictorials for something, some photos caught my eye so I thought i'd snap some of em' to show on here to see if anyone recognises themselves or some old mates.
1) The first one is the cast of 'little Billy' at All Hallows, Speke in June 1969.
2) The first intake of children to Archbishop Whiteside school in 1968 from Our Lady of Reconcilliation school, Eldon Street.
3) St Francis Xaviers, February 69.
4) St. Philomena, April 69.
5) St. Aloyisous, Twig Lane, Huyton - May 69.
6) St. Cecilia's, Tuebrook, May procession 69.
7) St. Annes, Overbury street, June 1969.
8) St. Anthonys, Scotland Road. 1st Holy communion in June 69.
9) Bishop Goss last 60 seniors before the girls school was closed down with new seniors now attending the newly opened St. Gregory's on Prince Edwin Street.
10) Gerard Crescent Southport outing in September 69.
.
The rest.
Good Stuff Ged...
Old Catholic Pictorials eh, my mum used to get that paper, think I made at least one photo in there, in my heyday but it would have been well after 1969 when I was a nipper
Find out what year and next time i'm in there i'll have a look.
Probably be 1974, Lord Mayors Parade but I'm saying no more, don't want to go off thread ! Thanks Ged.
St Nics wasn't it, right, i'll look out for the lad in the snorkel parka
St Nicks in the Lord Mayors Parade,
as Liverpool players having just won the FA Cup
Don't let that put you off !

My old school has gone ! it's the end of an era for many Anfielders.
This is the infants school on Pinehurst rd which has been demolished, the infants will be merged with the juniors on Pinehurst ave.
I have heard rumours that the junior school will eventually go too and that a new school will be built.
The infants was a very small school with only about 4 classes. It was falling into disrepair over the years.
It seems strange seeing a blank space where the school was. Lots of memories here - it's sad but inevitable it had to go.
