Wellington Road school was recently converted into 'apartments'. The smaller school was demolished. It still says 'boys' and 'girls' in brick, over the entrances of the larger building.
If you Google 'Wellington Place' Liverpool, then various links appear from Estate Agents. This one has some pictures:

Is it not far from Park Road and High Park Street?

Great site, thanks. Cool to live in an old school. NOT where I went however!! Where did I go??? It was right by my house too. About four streets along from Micawber Street. You would think I would remember!

^The nearest school to Micawber Street, excluding Mount Carmel, was Toxteth County Primary School (Upper Park Street).

I know this is quite a bump but I thought this might be of some interest.

St Gregs was my old school as well, sad to see it being demolished. I drove past it only a couple of weeks ago, I would have liked a final look around for old time' sake.

I think the photo captioned "Childwall Sports College" looks more like the long demolished Childwall Valley High School for Girls. I went to what is now Childwall Sports College on Queens Drive light years ago when they called it Holt High School and remember that both schools were of very similar appearance except from the central towers which were built in quite different styles.

Thanks for the pic of Broad Square Infants where I went before "big school".

    Unhappy

There are loads of primary schools in Liverpool 8 and not enough children to fill them. Liverpool City Council are reviewing the primary education at the moment - so expect at the very least five schools to close. These closures will primarily be in the best interests of the children, and nothing to do with saving loads of money!!! (To be fair looking at the numbers, three schools do need to close, but Liverpool City Council always likes to take things further.)

Will keep you informed of how the review "in the best interests of the children" is going!

Wow, I didn't even know it had closed down. I had a 6 month work placement there around about 1999.
