Prescot Rd ( where the Icleand is now )
To the far left is the Regent Cinema, then became Casino Cars ( the second pic ), later Kwik Save, now stands empty.

    edit.

Forgot to mention the Highfield House Lodges, seen in the first pic

do know where this is .....
12 months before the Curzon Cinema was built ( ex Home Bargains ) this was the site, in 1935.
In the second pic, the Curzon is the building on the left hand side, Mart.

If not, where are the other bridges it could be ?
    Martin.
Martin I think that is West Derby station on Mill Lane.

Looking at this pic, I suspect it was behind Hoult's Corner ( where Tesco is now )
The left hand side of the pic looks like Barclays Bank ( top of Derby Lane ), in the second pic, Barclays Bank is to the right in the background AND in the third pic, is that the tower / Chimney behind Hoults corner ? I think so
Deffo the tip of Barclays bank Martin. You could spot that anywhere as it stands out so much. Agree with you that its on the Tesco site.

Anyway, got 25 to add to the site but a few have me a bit puzzled. The photo's I got copies of have very basic info on them e.g. Prescot Rd Knotty Ash 1921.
I can't seem to recognise where they may be so thought I'd put a few on here, to see if any of the people on here can recognise anything....
    Anyway, here we go:
First one said Prescot Rd - Knotty Ash Terminus 1921.... can't work out which way this is looking on Prescot Rd. I know it was widened early in the 1900's. Mart
All I can offer is that i think its the row of houses leading towards the Wheatsheaf Pub? so looking towards sansbury's? I believe if you stood outside Wyndsors shoe shop you could take this picture?

But just guessing mate? not sure at all?

Think you could be right and the LRO are way out !
So it's Mill Lane, NOT Prescot Rd ....

behind on the right ( Shankly fields ) are they barracks, on the old pic ?

Highfield House stood where Highfield School is now.
The drive up to it from the lodges on Prescot Rd must have been impressive at the time.
I do have a cople of pics of it on the website I will release soon !

Anyone remember which cinema was on the next corner to Baden Road?

Depending on how long ago you're talking about, there were two. The Curzon was over the road to your left as you came on to Prescot Road from Baden Road and The Regent was on the same side to your right.

Originally there were 3 and I'm sure Sirob or Philip G will correct me if I'm wrong.
The Curzon was on Dovercliffe / Prescot Rd.
The ORIGINAL Regent was where the Kwik Save is / was, it was that building ( it became Casino Cars after teh new Regent was built )
and the New Regent ( demolished ) is where Baden House is now.

I just had a browse around for info on the New Regent as I didn't know it existed and it was indeed on the site of Baden House from 1938 - 1967.

I remember it in the 50's. I can't honestly remember if it was still there in the 70's. My Grandparents lived at 10 Baden Road and I just walked round the corner. I loved the shape of it so it was probably Art Deco!

Thanks for photos. The Curzon looks right but I don't remember those shops, only residences. The side of it was on the main shopping road.

*****I asked my mother recently as I was only a kid and can't really remember and she said the cinema was in Baden Road itself!!!

It sounds more like the New Regent which as Martin described was on Baden Road/Prescot Road.

Here's a link to the picture...
