    Was the cakeshop Clooks, not Cooks? My uncle did electrical work etc for them. Not sure if they had a few shops around L`pool.
    My family had printing shop, John Donald`s, in Old Swan, where Pet shop is/was -near Post Office opp Tesco.

    I lived in Gordon Drive,Knotty Ash, 1947-1960. Anyone remember the grass tennis courts in Springfield Park, alongside East Prescot Road railings.

    Yes it was Clooks. There was on Breck rd, corner of Richmond Park, (1960s). I knew the people that ran the shop.

    Looked in the 1948 Directory, No 495 Prescot Road it was.
    Yes it's Pets Pantry now.
