    Hi Val
I went up venmore street the other day before the match its v sad. I expect they will knock them down at the end of this season. They are supposed to be making a boulevard up to the new stadium. My nan and grandad Elsie and Bill used to live in 66, and my dad is Bill Thompson and his sister Hilary, their son and daughter. Whats your surname ? My uncle was Sid Sheldrake and Beattie who used to live next door to you. I found your email as I was searching to see if I could find any pictures of venmore street as it used to be. If you find any let me know

It is due for demolition as part of the regeneration of the Anfield Breckfield area, but some still live there. The council have been buying back properties for ages.

Can anyone tell me if Baltic street is still standing? About three streets away from LFC grounds. My nanny lived there and brought up two boys, one was my dad.

    hi john,
I moved to croxteth in 1960 it had just been built all brand new.so it was lovely
including St Swithins school were i went, we moved into Mace Road which is at the back of a pub called the Dog & Gun,
Mace Road was a small cul de sac, only 10 houses 5 on each side
we were in the Echo as there were 100 kids living in those 10 Houses.
There were also maisonettes at the bottom of the road.
    We left in 1980

    Post Venmore Street

    Hi Val

I came upon your message here whilst looking for old photos of Venmore Street! The reason being, that I am trying to trace my family tree... and my uncle (step uncle)... was Alfred Hurst! A great man, who encouraged me with my music studies as a child. My father, Edward Leonard was named as living in 59 Venmore Street prior to his wedding in 1954. We believe that although my father kept his surname of Leonard, he was taken in by the Hurst family... and a couple of times over the years he mentioned a Stevie Devine... not sure if this means anything to you? Details are not really known before this, and sadly my father died in 1985. I really hope that you will read this message and get in contact with me... or indeed anyone else who lived around this time who knew the Hursts.
