Edge hill and Speke Junction/Garston railway men wanted
hi guys, im looking to try and find railwaymen who would have worked at Edge hill or Speke junction motive power depots in the 1940s,50s and 60s.
Drivers, firemen, shunters.
Im looking for recollections of the railway shunting workings around Edge hill area. (crown street and wapping tunnel to be more specific)
and the reason for speke junction is that theyre diesel shunters worked the Edge hill area. so any recollections of these would be great.
does anyone know any guys still around,
if do could you please contact via private message, ill give out my phone number to those who need it via private message, or phone numbers of ex drivers would be great, i realise a lot of these older guys wont be on the internet.
thanks in advance
If it is any help, I've got some hi-res pictures of the station at Edge Hill from the late 70's early 80's when it was all tidied up and old buildings were demolished - with also a set of maps too.
I can shove em on here or you can PM me for your e-mail addy.
