The uneven numbers are on the opposite side to St. Anthony's church (so the West side) and being numbered from the Town Hall onwards, i'm pretty sure that this would be the block before Blossoms florist which is 9 Stanley Road at the fork.I'll try and check it out when I get home.

On second thoughts the Parrot pub is 347 Scotland road so it'll be nearer the top of Wright Street.

    Default 1936 Kelly's directory.

    263 Scotland Road
(between St Martin St & Blenheim St, opposite the Derby cinema)
    Bellamarcina Nicle confectioner.
St Anthonys would be the nearest RC church and school.

These 3 pics are of that general area of Scottie, ie - West side, facing/almost facing the Derby Cinema. Source: LRO.

That's the only Bellamarcina in the directory.
Only one name - usually the head of the household - is listed for any one address.
If you want I can photo that part of Scotland Road so you can see who the neighbours were in 1936.

Yes it is, drone_pilot, I used to watch out for it when I was on the Ribble bus going up to visit my auntie's in Thornton. I believe we established on the Liverpool windmills thread that it was demolished in the 1960's. It was the one Gareth has listed there as "Leicesterís Mill, Scotland Road / Bevington Bush (demolished 1960s)." Ged also provided a view of how the area looks now.

There were also people who paid "Best prices for (used) false teeth" in days gone by.

You may remember the Steptoe and Son skit where they go out totting for used choppers, "Choppers for Sale", which is actually a sketch from their full length episode "The Economist." It is available on cassette and video from the BBC.

yes please if it is not tomuch trouble for you. I have found them on the 1938 directory too. I have been told that Mr bellamancina was interned during the war, i would like to try and find out where and for how long? also i have been told that the shop was bombed , but can't prove this and would like to. Thanks for your help.
