    Default Portia Street.

    1996 photo.
This is the Pit Entrance (in Portia Street) of the former Commodore cinema in Stanley Road. The Pit (a former theatrical term) contained the cheaper seats at the front of the auditorium,
Unfortunately, the full length of both sides of the building are now covered in cladding, so it isn't known if this art-deco lettering has been allowed to remain. The other side of the building is in Falstaff Street.

    Thanks, Lindy.
It makes all the difference if pictures are added.

The seven streets are: Romeo, Juliet, Macbeth, Othello, Portia, Falstaff and Shakespeare himself. The William Shakespeare pub is also in this area.

Given how famous he is there's hardly any Shakespeare streets in the city of Liverpool - the only ones I have come across are Shakespeare Close in Everton and Verona Street/Venice Street in Anfield - which are part of a cluster of streets beginning with V, so the shakespeare connection may be coincidental and the developer may just have been thinking of Italian cities.
