    Is it Street or Road?
Gladstone Road was off Rice Lane in 1908.
There is a Gladstone Street in Woolton on the 1907 map, but only one side of it is built, so it may have been new then.

Gladstone Dock is Bootle, practically Seaforth so there's no connection there, it was just a dock named after Gladstone. The one up by Marmaduke St is just as far from Scottie in the other direction so no clues there either.

    Hi,

Gladstone Street ran between Freemasons Row and Naylor Street, close to Vauxhall Road. The map is dated 1891.

    See you,

    Tony

    Hi,

St. Bartholomew's Church (1841-1939ish), was on Naylor Street, just above the right hand corner of the map.

Well done TonyS, I didn't know about that one. They obviously look like courts given that map and timeline.

There is a building in Naylor St, near the junction with Gladstone St, which has a 1906 date-stone. It covers Court no.4 area on the map. This could indicate turn-of-century clearance of the courts.
St. Bartholomew's is remembered to the right end of Freemasons Row, with St. Bartholomew's Rd. For some reason it doesn't appear on Google maps, but there is a road-sign.

Gladstone Street, looking towards Naylor Street

Date-stone on the sheds on the left. This building covers some of the courts.

Old Street-sign. Hasn't been painted for years.

Isn't there a Gladstone Road off Durning Road in Edge Hill?
I'm sure one of my old school friends lived there.
