    Default Higsons Brewery

Higsons is now being brewed in Liverpool again and available in some pubs, good to see. I remember the old adverts in the footy programmes from the 80s with Ann Field and Gwladys Street.

Good news. Big fan of Higsons bitter but it was one of those beers that, well kept, was sublime, but badly kept was awful. I knew lots of people who said they didn't like it but when I took them to somewhere it was well kept they were converted. It was never the same when they stopped brewing it in Liverpool.
Used to go to the Grapes (Matthew St) every Friday night in the early to mid 70's - when Bob and Rene Cook had it - where the Higsons was mighty. Then on to the Odd Spot when the Grapes closed. Happy days.

I've booked for a group of members to go on the tour (pint 'n buffet at the end of it.) If there are any free places left, then you are welcome to join us.

It is very popular. We are going on the evening of the 3rd January 08.

Thanks for the offer Steve but other things have been planned for me.
The 3rd is my 69th birthday and family have something up their sleves ().
a bottle or two of Asbach I hope.

Would have been great to have met up with you and the others though.
    Another time then.

I've been looking through a lot of old pub / brewery stuff today and wondered if anybody could think of any pubs built for Higsons? I'm not looking for a list of Higsons pubs, more pubs that they had built if anybody can help...
