    Default bootle arms

    [IMG][/IMG]

I took this outside the Bootle Arms in Melling in 1971.The morris dancers were called the Ancient Men. Out of curiosity I Googled the name last year and found out that they were from Oxford. I e-mailed them some photos and had
a reply back saying a couple of them had relatives living in Bootle. They had
come up for one of their relations weddings. They kept a log book of all their
gigs and were able to tell me what day, date and time I had taken the photo.
The manager of the pub had bought them a round and put £1 in their collection. They said they were really ancient now ,not only in name but
    were stiil dancing.

Loving the cars - Mini which has unchanged since the start of production and the 'Land Crab' next to it

Hmm...but looking at it again, it could be an Austin 1300!

heres another with the squeeze box (accordian) player included.
Talking of accordian players, if you could play one of them you were never short of invitations to do`s in people`s houses on a saturday or sunday nights after the pubs closed. I could only play the gob iron(mouth organ)
    so I was never drunk.
