This scaffolding has been up for a long time now and there never seems to be anyone working there. I would like to record this area as it is now before any developers move in, but the scaffold spoils the shot.

I agree with Kev, Omega, fantastic shot!!! That bit of scaffolding actually lends an air of surrealism to an otherwise balanced shot. I would like to think that they are restoring that portion of the warehouse. Hopefully we will discover that is what is happening.

I worked in the Wapping warehouses in summer 1966 for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board and got some shots of the warehouses as they looked then as well as a close-up photograph of a crane or gantry similar to the one that you can see on the left side of your photograph, directly under the scaffolding. One of these days I will get my 35mm slides digitised so everyone can see them.

Omega, I take it we are looking at one of the nothern docks. Could you tell us which one it is?

Phred is right it is the Stanly dock, the building on the right is used for the market on Sunday. When they finish the canal link at the Pierhead, is this where the barges will have to come through to get to Albert Dock?
