    And what did they do back in the 90's? Demolish a massive school, salisbury house in order to move in to a smaller school that was way too small even then. I had the pleasure of that small school in the last year before I went to St Margarets and hated it. You could have fitted that school in to the playground area of the old school's foot print.

    This might not be the right thread, but I wonder what others think of Church Schools?
    It's not likely to happen, but like all Religions, I think they should be banned.

    Just as well your views didn't hold sway in earlier centuries Phil. Many millions of working class children would have received no education whatsoever had it not been for church schools and Sunday schools. These schools of course were funded out of parish funds. State education didn't arrive until after 1870 in England and Wales.

    It's entirely your choice whether to go to a church school or not. I did because I followed the bible and went to church, something you had to do to get in to St Margarets.
