    Default Searching for names!

This is an old photograph I have found in family records. It is a wedding group outside the church of St Mary's in Grassendale. Taken around the end of the 2nd war, approx 1943/44. If anyone recognises any of the people in the group please let me know. I do know that the brides name was Francis Woods, and her family lived near Cressington Park.

I'll ask my sister, she's the secretary at St Mary's.

She just left on holiday, so it will be a while...

Out of interest, this is what the interior looks like today.

And, if you look closely, it seems the same dark red sign is still to the left of the main entrance -

I can almost smell it AZ, though displaying the lotto numbers is new to me.

I can pretty solidly say that no-one in the pic still attends the church...

My 91 year old mother mother is the longest attending church-goer there, and she only came into the country in 1948.
...and Oudeis, I don't win the Lotto that week...

AhAh! Both you and Oudeis have sussed my motive!! Yes! As you look at the photo, I'm the fair haired fella in the light grey suit,on the right hand side of the photo, my sister next to me. The 'Victorian' elderly lady on the extreme left of pic is my maternal grandmother. I have a very vague memory of the event, but ashamed to say, don't remember any other names! and I'm only guessing at the possible date.

Oudeis, I'm still taking my morning walks! not a lot of change, so not photographing anything of interest! Thanks for asking
