In case you haven't seen this. I just noticed this event for those of you still living in Liverpool.

Michael Wood is giving a talk on Liverpool's History at Liverpool University.

"13 November 2007

17:00 - Heritage 07 The legacy of Liverpool's past. Keynote lecture hosted by the University of Liverpool.
In this illustrated talk, Michael will look at the rich and fascinating historical background that underlies Liverpool’s status as European Capital of Culture in 2008. Delving back to Romans, Saxons and Vikings, to the saints and seaways of the Dark Ages, and the founding of Liverpool in 1207, the talk will lead on to the slave trade and the rise of Liverpool as a world city in the 19th century, its twentieth century decline and its rise again in the 1990s when the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

If it's anything like his TV shows, it should be good.
