Having a break!
Not many threads on this ex-pat subject page, so thought I might add a couple of words!!!
Off up north to the Bay of Islands tomorrow, just for a short break away from home. Hope to be able to get some photies! will try and add them to this site. (Thats if I can manage to do it of course!!)

Went easy on the wine! thought i'd try and get the last drop out of this barrel!!!
Will try! I'm just getting used to using my new 'Notebook' . Windows 7 seems to make it easier to download pics but I'm not certain of my ability to add more than one!!! but here goes!- The area is the 'Bay of Islands' Northland coast, and places include Russell, (original early capitol of NZ), Pahia, Waitangi (where the Treaty was signed) and Huruka Falls.Originally Posted by wsteve55

1st show view from the wharf at Russell, beach just in front of the historic Duke of Marlborough Hotel, still in use, built around about 1871 (or thereabouts!)
2nd- Old cannon at Russell,
3rd- Russell main streeet, view to the wharf,
4th and 5th- Russell wharfe,
6th- Huruka Falls,
7th- Self, wife Dot, daughter Paula, having a rest at motel (whilst grandson swims in pool),
8th- On jetboat 'Mac-Attack' about to go through 'Hole in the Rock'.
The pics are great Norm, glad you had a nice time and good luck to you all !
Only ever got as far north as Kawau Bay.
