I'm off work this week, just give me a tin of paint and a brush and I'll do it for a bargain £10,000

I was only thinking a couple of weeks ago how it could do with a lick of paint. They must have read my mind

    Default the paint job

Iain, your not in our gang, we outbid you mate, greedy swine

Ged, you and I worked it out right, there was a profit of £50 so we could use it to either start doing Townsend Lane up for Lindylou, or, all go for a few drinks and a bite to eat afterwards.

It is easily explained, simple arithmetic really.
    £50,000 for the painting contractor
£25,000 for the council member who approved his outrageous bid
    _______
    =£75,000

I drove under there today and they've started, that stretch of Smithdown is now 1 lane in each direction, more traffic chaos.
