    Default It's Christmas

These pictures were taken at a Christmas party which was organised by the Sharon Fox centre, a really special project which helps families who have someone who is suffering from an incurable disease ,or are recently bereaved after the loss of a loved one. There was no age barrier, from babes in arms to the senior familiy members, people who suffering losses ,or illnesses, can be assured of being helped by those who have come through the pain themselves. When I was asked if I would like to act as Father Christmas for the day I jumped at the chance ,I was nervous as to what I might be confronted with, would it be mournful and quiet, would people be sad and unhappy? ...................It was one of the most wonderful days I can remember, everyone was enjoying themselves, they sat in little groups around tables, some making decorations, others playing with playdoh and some making exquisite little bracelets. Boys and girls of every age and mental capability were engrossed in their mutual tasks. This was the scene as I entered the hall, slowly the children became aware of my presence and I was soon surround by the happy and smiling throng. My jaded frame was rejuvenated by the power of their love and I spent one of the happiest afternoons of my life. One of the helpers took these pictures so I could be reminded of that wonderful day.

Look very much real, holiday season is here and I'm really excited to spend it with my whole family somewhere peaceful, beautiful and far. Right now I'm reading some holiday travel articles to give some tips on where and what to do this holiday. It's our family tradition to take a winter holiday, we love packing up and venturing out to new places, either to go skiing or to go to an amusement park. This year I even took out payday loans just to make sure we'll not run out of budget during our trip. The best way to enjoy your winter vacation is by planning it all out. Selecting a perfect holiday can be quite daunting, as each member in your family will want different things...some may want to enjoy the sun and surf...and others may want to have a traditional white Christmas. That's the reason why I keep on looking for articles about holiday vacation tips. Enjoy your winter holiday, but remember to pack those Christmas gifts, you don't want sulky kids who didn't get their gifts, do you?, just sharing.

mayenaL, Just sharing? Perhaps it's best if you keep more to yourself. More chance, that way, of you getting by without usurous loan sharks.

Well,Christmas is over for another another year and here we are in 2012. I'm writing this from my hospital bed (been here since the 29th). Thank heaven for the NHS, they called me in because they felt unhappy about my condition. I'm on a ward where there are some men in worse health than I am,the guy in the next bed to my left is on his final count down and the nursing staff are looking after him as well as they can;to my right is a cheery old man of 86,he has a leg that looks just like a smoked ham. Opposite him ls a youngish man who suffered a major heart attack at Christmas and is awaiting surgery. The bed facing me contains a sad old guy who suffering from dementia,he keeps on trying to eat the mattress! In the opposite left corner is a sad case,,this guy is about my age and has moments of lucidity, but he spends most of his time believing he is living in his home and work ,he talks to his wife and organises his employees, takes his dogs for walks. He looks deathly pale and I often wonder if he will make it through the night. This is my sixth day and I am hopeful of an early discharge, they are rather short of beds and won't keep me longer than they need to.
I have made full use of the internet whilst I have been in, reading your post's has kept me from becoming dolally;so, may I offer belated good wishes for the New Year and thank you all for such interesting post's,
    BrlanD

I don't know, but it might just be the cheery fellow in the next bed Brian that has also been posting on the internet during his hospital stay...keeps saying he plans to make a late night raid on one of his neighbours' lockers. He has his eye on some rather fetching red underwear with white faux-fur trim.
I wonder if all the house work, cleaning and clearing-up is being done while you are away...or waiting for your return?
    Wily ol' fox.

I wish you...Happy New Year and soon home.

    Hello Brian

Good to hear from you. Happy New Year. I hope your hospital stay has helped you. Good that you are able to retain your sense of humor and to recognize that some of the other patients are lot worse off than you are! Good luck to you, mate.

    Cheers

Well the clock on the ward wall is heading toward midnight and the night staff are coming around to make sure we are all tucked in.We've finished our cocoa and I've just finished spinning another yarn or two. Tablets have been dispensed and we're set for another nights journey through 'til morning. Thanks for your kind words,I feel better just reading them.......................I wonder what I'll dream of tonight,

You will, doubtless, dream again of your life in the battery-chicken industry...
    When you used to...
Batten-down the hatchers and go egg-sploring local wild-life...

Dreaming at public expense...sweet dreams indeed.
