Exclamation Croxteth Hall (the bits you don't see)

I managed to have an unofficial walk around Croxteth Hall today, made possible by a lovely lady called 'Joan'. She's worked there for the last 20 years and is retiring very soon.

The route took us along the top floor of Croxteth Hall where the servants used to live, most of it still in original condition, some rooms fire damaged from the 1970s I believe, maybe someone can confirm that.

Its a shame this part of the house isn't in better condition.

The walk took us above the 'tour' area....

    Finally back down stairs...

Very good, Kev. I always like seeing pictures of 'hidden' places so to speak.

I thought the floorboards were going to give way it, we had to tread carefully.

Default Croxteth hall, the bits you don't see.

Hello Kev, just looked at your pics of Croxteth Hall, a lovely place. I want to say that Lord Derbys hunting lodge is still standing and someone lives in it,as I havn't seen any pics of it on any forum, I think it should be included in historic buildings like the ancient chapel of toxteth etc, It's tucked away at the top of Merton Road and Hawthorn road, or just before you turn left into hawthorne road. as it's part of Croxteth Halls past. I looked on old maps and the hunting grounds were huge, and written across the maps was Lord Derby's Estate. I should state that the Lodge is in Bootle L 20.
Sorry Kev I should have said knowsley Park /Hall

    Excellent pics Kev.

I was up in the Gods at the ex-North Western Hotel on Lime Street today with a newly made chum who is a Student there. Some of those corridors with the lights off would certainly give you the creeps in the daylight let alone at night!

An excellent staircase too - will upload pictures later!
