MORE than 40 writers will take part in The Bluecoat’s Chapter and Verse festival this year.
Running from October 12-16, the fourth annual literature festival will be themed around Liverpool’s City of Radicals year.
The 35 events include author readings, discussions, performance poetry and workshops with guests covering the whole spectrum of writing. Bluecoat artistic director Bryan Biggs says: “We look at writers who have challenged the status quo in their work, from Malcolm Lowry to Bob Marley, to a new generation of spoken word innovators and writers getting beneath the surface of the turbulent political and economic times we are experiencing.”
Guests include award-winning global journalist Ed Vulliamy, the grandson of department store pioneer TJ Hughes; BBC producer Colin Grant and Red Men author John Williams.
