There was no work going on that day, the only thing I can think of is possibly because of the locks being iced over and they haven`t got around to removing the fencing.

So that `s what the fencing was for they were working on the locks today, Some of the basins still had enough water for the ducks.

Initially I was sickened by what they were doing to my old tramping ground in that area ,but it is beginning to grow on me ,sadly the next generation will never be able to conceive what it was like originally or the historical ambience that existed previously when I & my grandfather worked & sailed from those docks or the thousands of migrants that boarded vessels in the Waterloo Dock to leave for a better life in the colonies . Nice pics Joe! I'm amazed at the clarity of your photo's, you must have a great lens, camera, etc., or is it just your technique?

Thanks for your kind comments Norman. With modern digital cameras with their image stabilisers it`s hard to get camera shake which used to be the ruin of sharp pictures.

Thanks for reply joe, I use a Sony DSC -S75 cybershot digital , but I can't get the clarity that you, (and your young-un's) achieve! perhaps it is camera shake on my part eh! goin to look at getting a new Lumix with a Leica lens so may be better in future!
