Can't for the life of me,remember the headmasters name (68-70) which demonstrates the positive influence it had on me..........none,I'm afraid!

Fred Roberts was a nice guy. He lived just around the corner from us and I knew his kids quite well.

Mr.Roberts sounds familiar, wasn't there a guy with a wooden leg,who used to doze off? I can't say I was around there, as much as I should have been,in my final year! Apparently, there's no trace of the school, now!

The guy who took metalwork gave me a lot of encouragement and played a part in me deciding on an engineering apprenticeship. Bit embarrassed I can't remember his name.

Default All Hallows/Pope John Paul II

Mr Campbell History - Left around 1990.
Mr Naylor Woodwork - Same as above.
Mr Duffy Metalwork - Looked like a mad Father Xmas. Left around 89-90. Was mates with Mr Naylor - both as mad as a box of frogs.
Mr Marr Science - Left around 91. If I remember rightly the poor sod never got over the death of his missus and never returned.

My mam and dad always say that the worst thing they did to that school was letting it become a mixed school (naming it Pope John Paul II in the process) rather than boys and girls. It had become a shambles by the time I left in 92 and only lasted for a few years after.

Many changes for the good over the years. The place still has a lot of undesirables.
