LIKE the phoenix that rose from the ashes, this year's Mathew Street Festival has reinvented itself - with more than a little help from its friends.

When news broke that Europe's biggest free city centre music event was to be axed for health and safety reasons, venues and bands rallied round to save the spirit of the festival.

We played an afternoon and evening set at the Head of Steam on Lime st along with 3 other bands - chocker all day and a great atmosphere. I'm usually abroad for it but couldn't miss playing on it when the opportunity arose so went earlier this year.
