    Default Sharp encounters -

Fed up with Gillette and Wilkinson blades wearing out so fast I felt like I was shaving with broken glass a few days later, I opted for some Superdrug own brand, Tripleplus. Why pay high prices for c*** blades when you can get them for much less?
It was the best purchase I ever made. The just do not seem to wear out. Because I was curious rather than mean I tried them for longevity. I got as much as a month out of them. Yet they were less than half price of the household name brands.
I believe Wilkinson and Gillette use soft steel and they trade on their name, so premature wearing out suits them. I read that a guy with more money and get-up-and-go than me, was as fed up as we all are.
So he started making own brand products for the superstores but with tougher steel. He was able to manufacture really great blades at a fraction of the cost, and still became mega rich. Good luck to him. I wish there were more blokes like him.

    I buy disposibles.

I always get cuts with any razor I use anyway. Shaving doesn't hurt as much as It used to though either.

I know for a fact that Gillette put a lot of work into the 'materials science' side of things.

I think it's a matter of preference. I bought some shop-brand disposables the other day and it was like ripping the hair out. So I bought some Gillette and the problem was solved...

    Yes, I do shave.
My neck and the upper parts of my beard.
I use Bic - they're fine, and get about 6 shaves out of each.
I use an electric beard trimmer to get the worst off first.
And yes, I know it's ready to be done again!
