Good luck John. Though i'm sceptical of such things, there's a place for everything and there's nothing like a good ghost story and I see at least you've tried to verify your findings.

    Thanks Ged.

I'm not exactly a "believer" myself but I try to keep an open mind. With this book I've simply taken people at their word and reported what they've told me of their experiences. Then I've tried to look at the history surrounding the happenings (if any exists) and place the whole thing in context. It's as much a book about local history as anything really.

Well done on getting this published. I suppose CoC helped some(?). I've read a few bits you have written and it's clear that you do know how to assemble words on pages in a thoroughly legible manner.

It's a pity that this isn't listed on Amazon because I have really been looking forward to another dazzling review by "Cryptid Frank", whose views of other Liverpool author's books are so enlightening. Frankie doesn't much like other people writing about Liverpool and it's ghosts but he sure loves his Tom Slemen books!!!

Hang on a minute. . . No, surely not ... it can't be. Can it? He wouldn't. Would he? Nah... That's beneath him.

    ...or is it?

    AP.

I wouldn't bank on the CoC having had anything to do with it, and I speak from experience.

Thank you, that's what I'm aiming for.

Should be listed on Amazon by the time of the launch I think. Looking forward to seeing what "Cryptid Frank" thinks of it (I'll get my pinch of salt ready).

No help from the CoC with the book in terms of getting it written or published but maybe the interest might help sales a bit (I can dream).

Anyone fancy a pint in the Unity on the 5th of July then?

Ah well, that's a decent enough excuse I suppose. I'll let you off.

I think you've got the wrong Haunted Liverpool thread here Spooky. Now then, for MY haunted walking tour... no, I'm only kidding. Good luck to Mr Slemen and, of course, it's all for a worthy cause.

By the way, did I mention this? Book launch. Unity Theatre. 5th July. 6-8 pm. Hope to see you there.

Only a few days to go until the launch now. Really hope to see some of you there in spite of the Doctor Who finale clashing (we all use Sky+ or BBCi now anyway don't we? Or there's always the video of course).

All pre-ordered limited editions have been posted out today so, if you bought one (thanks if you did) you can expect a book in the next few days.

Yes indeed, the book arrived this morning all numbered and signed and all, and looks very interesting - looking forward to starting to read it around midnight or so when the candles burn down low... Thanks John!

    Default sighting and oddities

There is an awful lot that I do know, privately within my family and I wish sometimes it were known publicly of the mental torment and heartbreak endured to my great grandparents and grandparents and great uncles during the trial and after Uncle Georgie's execution. To this day we still carry the scars and heartache in many different ways.
