Museum of Liverpool visitor figures reach 250,000 in one month
by Catherine Jones, Liverpool Echo | Aug 16 2011 |

THE new Museum of Liverpool was celebrating today after its visitor figures hit the 250,000 mark.

The £72m waterfront landmark opened four weeks ago today.

Museum bosses had predicted 78,000 visitors in the first month of opening, but the response from the public has been more than three times that with an average of 8,300 a day.

I don't think so as the Mann Island developments are just one more piece in the jigsaw that join together Ropewalks, Liverpool ONE, the City Centre, Albert Dock and Pier Head into a whole.

That's what I've seen! As they "open up" those formerly deserted parts of the city, there's been an influx of people, and businesses opening to cater for them!

Had a mooch around the Museum, wow, that staircase is HUGE. Was overwhelmed by the stairs TBH and not in a good way.

I felt the display areas were too small with too much in them, maybe that staircase could have been smaller and the galleries larger. I enjoyed the Beatles mini cinema experience plus the football one.

Some nice views from in there and that Mann Island area is impressive!

    Fantastic Joe,

Did you like it then. Don't go mentioning you travelled on it though or someone will say you're attention seeking

Joe, sorry old buddy. I wish I hadn't said anything. You in a rush to share your day out with us couch warmers and all we young whipper-snappers can do is climb over one another to put you right.
    For shame on us.
I have a good mind to complain to the Museum that they have mislabelled that exhibit.

I attended a private viewing last night of the new exhibition, Roger McGough`s "Doors" in the Liverpool museum.
It consists of 32 old doors from various places in Liverpool like,Liverpool and Everton Fc, Strawberry Fields childrens home,Arthur Dooleys studio, etc. The work was made by Roger and his friend Mark Cockram along wtith students from LJMU School of Art and design

Hiya Joe. I was invited to that too but already going to be out the house too much in this coming week so gave it a miss. Great pics, looks like you enjoyed it.
