Default help required for a friend in New zealand

Please can anyone locate 33 Barter St liverpool , Pitt St Ward 8.

I can't find a Barter St listed in the A/Z. i'ts apparently near or between Hurst St & Orford St .

It would be a bonus if anyone can tell me who lived there in any of the directories available . & when it was demolished .

    Many thanks
    Love Karen xx

Barter Street was off South Road, next to Miles Street, but both the 1936 and 1968 directories list only 29 houses (and the old maps confirm that was all it ever had).
When it was first built it was called Exchange Street, but the name was changed in the 1860s because there was an Exchange Street in Liverpool.

Sorry, I didn't say, but Barter Street has gone now, with new property (1980s?), and a landscaped area, on the site.

I don't know about 1851, but by 1936 there was only one Barter Street listed in the street directory.
I must admit I still don't know what period you were interested in.
(In future, I must ask before doing all this checking!).

    Hiya Philip ,
I'm a little bit confused by the info she has given us , in my A/Z There's an Orford st listed .it's supposedly around the Hanover st area . but i can't see it . , I've never heard of an Orford st around Miles St though , but I'm like the blind leading the blind , she's looking at 1851/61 period.

    Hi Karen
Dukes Pl is close to the Dukes dock & Orford St is close to Wapping I can't find any Garden Street close to them on my maps but I don't have one from around 1851

I'll have to buy a new disc for 1938 as mine cracked

I've found Barter Street, but it was swept away in the 1850s by which time the Wapping Dock and the Wapping Basin were built close by, and Wapping itself was re-routed. Wapping Warehouse (completed 1856) is probably on the exact site of Barter Street.
