Anyone know where Coronation Gardens were situated in City Centre?

On a bomb site at the corner of Lord Street and Paradise Street.
And Lord Street side of Thomas Street.
    Named after QEII's coronation.

    Welcome to the forum.

    Thank You,

If it helps, there is a picture of it in the "Liverpool Then" book produced by Liverpool Echo on page 26

    Thanks.
I've got a photo of it by Oxton Studios, but I think they don't like their photos reproduced.
Pity, because I've got some good ones.

In the picture I have I am trying to work out the buildings in the background and if they still stand. I can see further in the distance Port of Liverpool Buildings but that is all I recognize. Not sure if I am able to post picture?

It'll be OK to post one picture from a book, as long as you give credit to the book.
The picture I've got shows the Albert Dock in the left-hand corner.

    BTW.
All that area is now part of the Paradise Project, so I don't think anything survives.

Those buildings immediately opposite were in Derby Square. James st can be seen with the port of Liverpool building behind.

Hi - bit late on this one but only just seen it.

The building on the right with the 7 arched windows spanning two floors was Telegraph House, an old Post Office building that was occupied by the Telex Exchange, Telex Installation and Maintenance engineers and the old 'telegram service' where the telegrams were typed out and stuck to cards for delivery by the telegraph boys on theiir bikes !

The building was located on the corner of Cable Street and South John Street, and the new Debenhams stands there now, as it was demolished to make way for the Liverpool One development.

I worked there for several years from 1972.

There are pictures of this area by Springy on the Scousehouse forum at:

    http://www.thescousehouse.net/index....3&#entry220893

The view in this pic is indeed looking toward Derby Square and appears to have been taken from the site that later had the Bus Station, Car Park and Holiday Inn on Paradise Street.

The buses in the middle are on Castle Street South which dissapeared for the development of the 'new' QE2 Law Courts, again Springy has published some pics on the SH Forum.

Regards and Best Wishes to all.
