Timeless (A Picture to Make Me Smile)
For Antony May

I photograph my double Harvey Wallbanger
that glows yellow with sunlight,
a new bloom illumined in a mass of green,
a planet shining in a dark nebula.

I will do whatever I need to do,
whatever it takes, to reach you,
to make you safe, in the time left,
as the atomic clock matures.

I sip my hand-crafted roasted gazpacho
with extra sour cream and salsa.
I lay my credentials on the credenza
at the glacial erratic inscribed
with the word of the Lord,
as time winks and smiles. I smile back.
