Fancy being a TV Reporter?
Well you can be, with a new Citizen Reporter scheme being launched here at The Pilgrim Pub this Friday 17th June at 8 pm.
The idea is that from now on, following the events of the Arab Spring where ordinary citizens were broadcasting news for themselves on mobile phones and without the use of fancy equipment, this type of reporting could become increasingly important in this country too. Street demonstrations this autumn and continuing action by groups like UK Uncut will all need to be covered in this way. For maximum effectiveness though, reporters will need to be well organised and briefed and the training this weekend is aiming to designed to provide simple templates to ensure that everything goes smoothly and coherently.
Everyone who thinks they may be interested is welcome to go along. Obviously there are costs in setting up a programme like this and participants are encouraged to donate, but no-one will be turned away for reasons of lack of funds
