Can anyone confirm for sure that Great Howard St. went up as far as 299
GH St is a longish road,so it probably did.

I see what Dave means George because just past the heritage market at the Luton Street bend it becomes Derby Road.

An advert from 1861 for Doran's in 53 Islington, nothing you don't already know....unless you weren't aware they worked in womens skirts.

The address in Howard Street comes from a note in the London Gazette (1871) where it states that Doran & Co are bankrupt. After that, Doran and his partners (Kreinschulten) move to Rhode Island in 1871.

Ged, As far as I know and understand from the newspaper ads, the men organized the wholesale (they were drapers and merchants) and the women operated a store, possibly in Islington 53 (they were milliniers).

Gerard, Thank you very much for your kind help.
