    Default DIY Wills

No it's not about the Prince William putting shelves up for Kate..............

Anyone know if DIY wills are ok?...we made ours a few years ago now and probably need to update it. (note to self!) but a friend has made a DIY will with a kit bought from WH Smith, said she doesn't want to pay out to money grabbing solicitors.

It still has to be authenticated by a person or person of local authority in law.

That's what I thought, I would imagine the way in which some things are worded might be tricky.

The will has got to be made out in front of none family members to reduce any will contesting if it arose.

ie Doctors,Clergymen or anyone with some status can be a witness.

Trade Union members usually get free wills.

It didn't cost us anything and it was written exactly the way we wanted it. We emailed our instructions on-line and then we met the solicitor in the Union offices and signed the will with a trade union member as witness. They keep the orginal copy in their safe and we were given a copy.
