    Walking along the prom' just past the "Brittania" pub,i spotted this rock! Does anyone here know what it is? it's layered, with what looks like giant wormholes in it

    This structure had thick rope spiralling around it. I believe it was part of the nautical-themed exhibits that were placed around that part of the waterfront. The rope has obviously rotted away or been removed over time. Someone may have a picture of it from the IGF, but I've never seen one yet.
    If you look closely you can still see the impression the rope has left.

    And here's me thinkin' it was a fossil from the pleistocene period!!
