    Default Liverpool Shipwrights

I am looking for a source of information about Liverpool Shipwrights 1800 - 1880. Types of employers, employees, apprenticeship records, working conditions. Any type of detail will be of a great help to me.
    Many thanks

    I would recommend Mike Royden's book ...

    'Tracing Your Liverpool Ancestor's'

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tracing-Your.../dp/1844159906

Mike's own ancestors were ship builders - so the ship building aspect is covered in some detail in the book.

Also, the Mersey Maritime Museum Archives & Library may be able to help you.
