31st dec 1956 towards Dingle station.

The LOR had the very first Electric Multiple Units, EMUs, which is standard today That means no locomotive as the the motors were in the passenger cars.

There was a 1940s proposal for a 'belt' line using the Liverpool Overhead Railway as its western section. The proposal advanced into one large outer loop with two sub rail loops using conventional lines. One for the northern section of the city and one for the south. This was incorporated into the Merseyrail design in the 1970s and work commenced, which the eastern section was postponed. The Council current are attempting to get the full Outer Loop recommissioned after nearly 40 years.

becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the

canals to view its modern museum describing
    how it once was?
