The start of July's POTD is at the end of June.
I don't think any days have been missed.

No. I took the last pics off the June thread and started a July thread but it appears to have been lost somehow.

The missing pictures could always be re-posted.
I don't think I actually posted one for July, before yesterday, but I could find one if there's going to be a gap.

Sorry if this has been discussed before but you may have to excuse me on 'Newbie' grounds.

    Default fill that gap

Eddie (NEIGHBOUR0 I quite like this particular building. I think it is new, bright, dynamic and quite good in situ. Fills a gap in vista photographs from loads of approaches very well, me thinks.

I didn't like the drawings of it before it was built, but now that it's finished it's grown on me.
I still think the Atlantic Tower Hotel is a better looking building!

    Default 10th July

Lowlands, Hayman's Green, West Derby, Liverpool. The well known Casbah associated with the Beatles was located in this building

Correction Lowlands was the Pillar club. The Casbah was in another house in Hayman's Green.

    12 July
I use this pic to draw attention to the mast

What is it used for ? I have been down to Kings Parade many times, including "Battle of Britain" week, Battle of the Atlantic and the last visit of the QE2. Never have I seen a flag fly from it.

Who knows, maybe a flag with "08" may fly from it soon, (if Council can put down there Knifes and Forks and read this site).

    Hi Phredd

It occurs to me it might be the mast from some historic ship. In which case, I wonder if there is a plaque saying so or whether anybody knows whether the mast was taken from some specific ship to set up on Kings Parade. There's a memorial here in Baltimore to the first Pride of Baltimore, a replica War of 1812 schooner lost off Bermuda in 1986 and it is in the form of a mast.

    Thanks Chris.
Apart from climbing up the mast I could not find a plaque on it.
Its been up there for well over 10 years that I know of.
    Truth will out in time.

    Cheers Chris
